2. Enrollment and Registration

2.1. Enrollment for music lessons is subject to availability and is confirmed upon receipt of the completed registration form and payment of the applicable fees.

2.2. Students must provide accurate information during the registration process.

3. Payment Terms

3.1. Payment for lessons is due prior to the start of each lesson or in accordance with any payment plan agreed upon with the Instructor.

3.2. Invoices will be delivered digitally via email. Payments are accepted via GoCardless on your invoice (an ACH transfer service) or through Venmo (@EvaSkanse, last four digits 6969) or Paypal (evaskanse@gmail.com).

3.3. A late fee of $5 per week per late payment will be applied to overdue payments unless prior arrangements have been made.

3.4. Students may choose to be billed in bi-weekly or monthly cycles.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

4.1. Lessons can be canceled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours notice. Notifications must be made via email, phone call or text.

4.2. Cancellations made with less than the required notice may result in loss of the lesson fee, unless the cancellation is due to an emergency or unforeseen circumstance, which may require documentation.

4.3. The Instructor reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons due to illness, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, the Student will be notified as soon as possible, and a makeup lesson will be arranged.

5. Lesson Structure

5.1. Lessons will be tailored to the individual Student’s goals and capabilities.

5.2. Students are expected to come prepared for each lesson, including practicing assigned materials.

6. Conduct and Behavior

6.1. Students are expected to maintain a respectful attitude towards the Instructor and towards their own learning.

6.2. Students are expected to maintain a respectful and collegial attitude towards each other when attending the optional group masterclasses.

6.3 Harassment of any kind in the studio community will result in the termination of lessons. This includes, but is not limited to, the following behaviors:

  • Verbal harassment, including derogatory remarks, slurs, and inappropriate jokes.

  • Visual harassment, including the display of offensive images or materials.

  • Cyber harassment, including sending offensive emails, texts, or messages through social media.

7. Liability Waiver

7.1. Playing a musical instrument, especially a wind instrument, inherently involves physical exertion. Students are expected to assess their health and proceed with lessons at their own risk.

7.2. Parents or Guardians of minors must ensure proper supervision.

8. Media Release

8.1. The Student (or Guardian) grants the Instructor permission to take photographs or videos during lessons for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify the Instructor in writing.

9. Refund Policy

9.1 All lesson payments are non-refundable once the lesson has been conducted.

9.2 If you cancel a class more than 48 hours in advance, you may either cancel that lesson or reschedule for a different date within the same billing cycle. If you choose to cancel, the lesson payment will be refunded as a credit towards your next billing cycle.

9.3 Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled lesson will not be eligible for refunds or rescheduling except in special circumstances such as an illness or emergency. Documentation may be required.

10. No-show policy

10.1 Students who fail to attend scheduled lessons without prior notice (no-shows) will not be eligible for refunds or rescheduling.

11. Withdrawing from lessons

11.1 If you wish to withdraw from your music lessons, please submit a written request to evaskanse@gmail.com at least 5 days before your next scheduled lesson.

  • Refunds may be issued under the following conditions:

    • If a student officially withdraws prior to the start of the first lesson, a full refund will be provided.

    • If a student withdraws after attending one or more lessons, a pro-rated refund based on the number of lessons attended will be calculated and refunded.
